Initial Consultation

The first consultation usually begins with an extended patient interview focusing on lifestyle, medical history, emotional status, physical examination as well as reviewing any lab reports. During the initial consultation, a detailed case history is taken to gain a holistic sense of a person’s health and well-being. Towards the completion of the initial consultation, I confirm the treatment plan for the patient and if there are quite a lot of issues, I ask the patient what they consider to be the treatment priorities.

Follow-Up Consultation

I generally ask patients after the initial consultation to return to the clinic after two weeks so that the treatment protocol can be reviewed. Follow up is very important because it allows me to monitor the patient’s progress and change therapies if needed to ensure that patient’s progression towards health is as quick and smooth as possible. The number of sessions that you need will depend on what exactly has been diagnosed and the treatment that is given. As your health improves, you will need less frequent follow-ups.

Food Intolerance Testing

If you are reacting to the foods you eat you might have food sensitivities to the protein (IgG) in that particular food. Protein (IgG) mediated food reaction is usually not life-threatening but can make the sufferer feel extremely unwell.

The Food Detective is a test for an immune response to food that I perform in the clinic. It tests for IgG antibody reactions to 59 commonly eaten foods. The test is simple, safe, accurate and gives results in just 40 minutes. It is performed using a blood sample from a finger-prick that is diluted then added to the Food Detective testing tray.

Optional Testing

A urine test is also an option if we need to test for dehydration, glucose, protein, vitamin c, ph levels, white blood cells, nitrite, ketones, bilirubin, urobilinogen and blood. The cost of the test is added to the follow-up or initial consultation.
